| Small Companies make a big difference. Press Release - August 2008 MODern Housing Solutions (MHS) is the company now responsible for delivering upgrade programmes to Service Families Accommodation in England and Wales. Defence Estates (DE) awarded them the new Prime Contract with a view to achieving better long term value. It is the job of MHS to establish a quality supply chain, enabling them to deliver projects on time and to cost, adding real value for the client. Small companies can help them to achieve this aim. Vivid Construction, a small southern based business was recently awarded a contract to upgrade 97 bathrooms in Service Families Accommodation at Larkhill, near Salisbury. Vivid believe in collaboration and by working as a team with DE and MHS, a tight and efficient model was set to ensure that the contract was delivered on time and to the required standard. As Mark Barclay, Managing Director of Vivid Construction, said “Our company ethos is to build long term relationships with our clients, ensuring we are very clear about their objectives and working with them as part of their business to deliver their projects through short lines of communications and accurate reporting systems.” The original project of 97 bathrooms was completed one week early. As a result an additional 15 bathrooms were added to the project. Thus the client was happy and feedback from the families extremely positive. It is essential that Service families receive an excellent service from sub contractors and Dexter Pedder, Compliance Manager DE said ‘Vivid has proved to be a professional, co-ordinated contractor and feedback from families has been extremely positive. ‘ MHS is keen to work with sub contractors who will add value to their contract, Charlie Hollis, Senior Buyer of MHS said “Vivid Construction is a new subcontractor for MHS.
